Process
A process built for clarity.
Seven stages, each with clear inputs and outputs. You always know where the project stands, what we need from you and what comes next.
- 01
Discover
Understand the business, the people and the problem.
We learn how your organization works, who the product serves and what success looks like. We review what already exists — analytics, systems, content, constraints — and identify the risks worth tackling first.
- You provide
- Goals and constraints
- Access to stakeholders
- Existing research, data and systems
- We deliver
- Discovery summary
- Success criteria
- Risk and assumption log
- Typical duration
- 1–2 weeks
- 02
Define
Agree scope, architecture and plan.
We turn discovery into a concrete plan: prioritized scope, information architecture or system architecture, technical approach, milestones and a transparent estimate. You know what will be built and why before design begins.
- You provide
- Priorities and trade-off decisions
- Feedback on scope
- We deliver
- Scope and milestone plan
- Architecture outline
- Estimate and delivery schedule
- Typical duration
- 1–2 weeks
- 03
Design
Shape the experience and the system behind it.
We design the key journeys and build a component-based design system. For applications and AI systems, we prototype the riskiest interactions first and test them with real users or real data.
- You provide
- Brand assets
- Review sessions
- Access to users where possible
- We deliver
- Design system
- High-fidelity designs
- Interactive prototypes
- Typical duration
- 2–5 weeks
- 04
Develop
Build in short, visible increments.
We build in one- or two-week cycles with a working preview environment from the first week. You see progress continuously, and decisions are made with working software rather than documents.
- You provide
- Fortnightly reviews
- Content and integrations access
- We deliver
- Working increments on a preview URL
- Code in your repository
- Progress notes
- Typical duration
- 4–16 weeks
- 05
Test
Verify quality before anyone else has to.
Automated tests run on every change. Before launch we run accessibility audits, cross-device testing, performance profiling, security review and — for AI systems — evaluation against the agreed test set.
- You provide
- User acceptance testing
- Sign-off on launch criteria
- We deliver
- Test and audit reports
- Resolved issue log
- Launch readiness checklist
- Typical duration
- 1–2 weeks
- 06
Launch
Ship carefully, with a plan for day one.
We plan launches to be uneventful: staged rollouts, redirects, monitoring and alerting in place, and a rollback path. We stay close during the first days to resolve anything that comes up.
- You provide
- Go-live approval
- DNS and account access
- We deliver
- Production deployment
- Monitoring dashboards
- Handover documentation
- Typical duration
- Days, not weeks
- 07
Improve
Learn from real use and keep moving.
After launch we review analytics, performance and user feedback, then prioritize improvements. Many clients continue with a retainer; others take over with our documentation and support during the transition.
- You provide
- Feedback and business priorities
- We deliver
- Post-launch review
- Improvement roadmap
- Ongoing support options
- Typical duration
- Ongoing
- Continues for as long as it’s useful.
Throughout
What stays constant, whatever the stage.
A working preview from week one
Every change is deployed to a private preview URL you can open on any device.
Regular demos
We show working software on a fixed cadence and agree the next priorities together.
A shared, visible backlog
You can see what's done, in progress and next — and why things are prioritized as they are.
A written decision log
Important product and technical decisions are recorded with their reasoning, so nothing depends on memory.
FAQ
About the process
How involved does our team need to be?
Most involvement is concentrated in discovery, design reviews and regular demos — typically a few hours a week from a product owner, plus input from subject-matter experts when we need it.
Can we skip discovery if we already have a specification?
We can shorten it. We still review your specification with you to confirm assumptions, technical constraints and priorities, because that's where the most expensive surprises are found.
What happens when requirements change mid-project?
Change is normal. We assess the impact on scope, timeline and budget, discuss the trade-offs with you, and record the decision before adjusting the plan.
Are the durations fixed?
No. The ranges shown are typical, not commitments. Your estimate and schedule are based on your actual scope and agreed in writing.
Have something ambitious in mind?
Tell us what you're building. We'll reply to discuss your goals, constraints and the best way to approach them.
