An offline-first mobile app for field technicians paired with a dispatcher console for scheduling, job tracking and sign-off.
Concept project — a self-initiated exploration by Webroaden with a fictional company. It is not a client engagement and shows no real-world results.
Interface concept, rendered in code. Names, figures and content are illustrative.
The challenge
Technicians work in basements, plant rooms and rural sites where connectivity is unreliable. The concept explores how job data, photos and customer sign-off can be captured reliably offline and synchronized without conflicts.
Approach
The decisions that shape the product — each one chosen to solve a specific part of the problem.
A local database with a sync queue and conflict rules agreed with operations, not left to chance.
Large targets, high contrast and one-handed flows designed for real job sites.
A web console for scheduling, live job status and reassignment, sharing types and API with the mobile app.
Photos, checklists and signatures attached to jobs with timestamps and an audit trail.
Intended outcomes
Design goals for this concept — not measured results from a live product.
No lost job data when connectivity drops
Dispatchers see job status without phone calls
One typed API shared by mobile and web
