A document processing pipeline that classifies incoming claims documents, extracts structured fields and routes uncertain cases to reviewers.
Concept project — a self-initiated exploration by Webroaden with a fictional company. It is not a client engagement and shows no real-world results.
Interface concept, rendered in code. Names, figures and content are illustrative.
The challenge
Claims arrive as scans, photos, PDFs and emails in dozens of formats. Manual keying is slow, but fully automated extraction without oversight is risky. The concept designs a pipeline where automation handles the routine and people handle the ambiguous.
Approach
The decisions that shape the product — each one chosen to solve a specific part of the problem.
Documents are classified first so each type gets a purpose-built extraction schema.
Extracted fields are validated against business rules and cross-checked between documents.
Low-confidence fields go to a reviewer interface that shows the source region beside each value.
Reviewer corrections are added to the evaluation set, so quality is measured on real edge cases.
Intended outcomes
Design goals for this concept — not measured results from a live product.
Routine documents processed without manual keying
Every uncertain value reviewed by a person
Accuracy measured continuously against real corrections
